Meruna: An Artist Book - Part Two

The (sketch)book Meruna was started in Spring 2015 – it was bound by a friend of the artist, with personalized choices for the design and size (it is quite massive and heavy at 25 x 30 cm). It is filled with drawings and studies for art school but also with spontaneous ideas, considering it as a visual diary which documented the artist's appearance and surroundings. The book contains images with a more illustrative style, alternating drawing from memory with using visual references.

Part two contains illustrations made between July 2016 and February 2017, with more from the previous year in part one of this blog post.

The gap between part one and two happened because the artist was busy preparing her BFA, and also the book was too heavy to carry around all the time. ^^ So it's interesting to see the evolution of the visual style due to the experience of an entire year of learning and making art.

Part one here.

Thanks for viewing,
Meruna.
